The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program is a federally-funded supplemental nutrition program. WIC supports Florida Families by providing the following at no cost:
- Healthy foods
- Breastfeeding support
- Nutrition education
- Referrals to other services
Families are screened for nutritional risk and income eligibility. Licensed nutritionists and nutrition educators determine eligibility and provide nutrition assessment, counseling, and education to assist families in making healthier nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle choices.

Who is eligible for WIC?
- Pregnant women
- Breastfeeding women
- Infants and children under 5 years of age
- Women who have recently been pregnant
How do I qualify for WIC?
- Meet WIC income guidelines OR receive Medicaid, Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA), or Food Assistance
- Be at nutritional risk

The local WIC office will give you an appointment to see if you are eligible. At the visit, your household income and the medical/nutrition status of each applicant will be reviewed.
