Family planning promotes the well-being of families, responsible behavior, and healthy mothers and babies. The Family Planning Program at the Florida Department of Health in Highlands County provides education, counseling, reproductive health services, and helps clients choose the number and spacing of their children.
The Florida Department of Health in Highlands County (DOH-Highlands) offers family planning and related preventive health services to both men and women. Family planning services are provided on a voluntary basis and in a confidential manner.

DOH-Highlands also processes applications for temporary Medicaid eligibility for prenatal medical care. Eligibility is based on the family unit’s gross income.
