Planning and Statistics 

The Florida Department of Health in Highlands County (DOH-Highlands) serves the needs of our communities by constantly monitoring and assessing health status and indicators for action.  Our team of epidemiologists review incoming reporting and provide investigation for disease outbreaks of concern, potential rabies exposures, and other reportable health issues.  Our school health team works in collaboration with the Highlands County School District to monitor the health status of all students to remain alert to changing trends.  And our Community Programs area works with local stakeholders to provide periodic assessment of the health status of our communities and create innovative solutions for identified areas of improvement.  Please click on the topic to the left for more information about these programs.
