Family Planning Services
The Florida Department of Health in Highlands County (DOH_Highlands) offers family planning and related preventive health services to both men and women. Family planning services are provided on a voluntary basis and in a confidential manner.
Family Planning is a program that offers information to help you decide whether and when to have a baby. Family Planning clinics are located at our Sebring and Lake Placid sites. The program provides education, counseling, medical services, referrals for sterilization procedures, and follow-up.
Family Planning Services Include:
- Pregnancy testing
- Counseling and referrals
- Physical examinations and lab work
- Education and birth control methods
- STD counseling and disease management
- Sterilization referrals for tubal ligation and vasectomy
- General health education and promotion
PEPW - Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women
DOH-Highlands processes applications for temporary Medicaid eligibility for prenatal medical care. Eligibility is based on the family unit's gross income.
