Immunization is one of the best ways you can protect yourself and your family against infectious diseases. Vaccines are your first line of defense against diseases such as polio, measles, mumps, rubella, influenza, tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. Vaccines in the United States today are considered the safest and most effective in history.

The Florida Department of Health in Highlands County protects the health and safety of our community by providing immunization services and educating the public on the importance of vaccines. Childhood and adult vaccines are available. Eligible children through 18 years of age may receive free vaccines through the Vaccines for Children program. Foreign travel immunizations are also offered.
